Research Topics

In children as well as in adults, the amount of physical activity and sedentary behavior influences physical and psychological health.
Therefore, increasing physical activity and decreasing sedentary behavior in children is important for their future health.
In order to do so, we need to understand the actual status of physical activity and sedentary behavior of children in Japan (how much more or less?) and the factors that determine these (what characteristics increase or decrease?). and determinants of these behaviors (what characteristics increase/decrease them?). It is necessary to clarify the actual situation of physical activity and sedentary behavior in Japanese children (how much more/less?) and the determinants of these behaviors (what characteristics increase/decrease?), and to establish effective intervention strategies (how to increase/decrease?) It is necessary to establish an effective intervention strategy (how to increase/decrease?).
In this research, we are clarifying the effects, actual conditions, and determinants of physical activity and sedentary behavior, and examining the effects of interventions on these factors.
